Super Energy Efficient Home on Hudson Bay Mountain

Net Zero Structural Insulated Panel Home Hudson Bay Mountain

Net-Zero has supplied a full Structural Insulated Panel (SIPs) package, including basement walls, main and second floor walls and roof panels for a new home currently under construction high up on Hudson Bay Mountain.

Devries Construction of Smithers, BC, is building the energy efficient 2700 square foot home which has 8 inch SIP walls (R32) and 12 inch thick roof panels (R50).  What is notable about the house (other than the view), is that even with the high elevation snow loads, the SIP roof panels are so strong that full 16 foot spans are easily achievable without any other structural support.

Net-Zero Moricetown Housing Project

 
Net-Zero completed four homes for the Moricetown Band earlier this year, built with Structurally Insulated Panels and screw pile foundations. 

The 833 square foot houses come with two bedrooms and one bath as well as high efficiency wood stoves, the smallest houses Net-zero has built so far.
