Kispiox Gas Bar

Kispiox Gas Bar

Net-Zero Structures Ltd. is pleased to announce that the Kispiox Band Council has selected Net-Zero to rebuild the Kispiox gas bar which was destroyed by arson in March of 2014.

The new 2500 square foot building was designed by Terrace architect, Dan Condon, and will be a very significant improvement in terms of size, functionality and aesthetics over the previous gas bar building. The building envelope will be built using Net-Zero Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) and will be more than twice as energy efficient than the previous building resulting in much lower heating costs in the winter months and a cooler building in the heat of the summer.

Construction of the new gas bar is expected to start in August 2014 and will be completed before the end of the year. Net-Zero is honored to be selected to construct this building that is so important to the Kispiox community.

Energy-Efficient Chalet on Hudson Bay Mountain Built with SIPs

When Jodie and Rob Blackburn decided to build a private chalet on Hudson Bay Mountain, they knew a conventional stick-frame construction was not going to be the most efficient building for their needs.

“I began to research energy efficiency and affordability and your companies’ product quickly became the front-runner,” says Rob. “We chose Net-Zero Structure’s structural insulated panels (SIPs) for many reasons including ease and speed of erection as well as cost and availability.”
