Moving In!

Jerina
August 15, 2016

Jerina Alfred is ecstatic. After ten years of living in a trailer the Moricetown resident is finally moving into her very own bungalow and couldn't be more delighted.

"I'm so excited, I just love the house, it's beautiful."

Alfred has watched since day one as the house, built by Net-Zero Structures with Structurally Insulated Panels, went up piece by piece to her delight. In the past Alfred had issues in her current home with mould and insulation to the point where her daughter and granddaughter couldn't visit for more than a day. With the move to her new place just days away, Alfred said a lot of things will change now that she has a brand new home.

"I watch right from the beginning and knowing that there's no mould in the house and that it's built well, my daughter and grand daughter can now visit."

"Its going to change a lot," Alfred said. "Family will be able to stay over which is great. During the build I had questions and concerns and they answered and fixed everything."

The house is an 844 square foot design, built on a screw pile foundation with two bedrooms and one bath, a covered front porch and an open floor concept connecting the kitchen and living room.

The house also comes fully equip with washer and dryer, high efficiency furnace and modern kitchen appliances.

"I don't think I would be able to afford a house like this anywhere else because I'm a seasonal worker. But this house has been a godsend!"

Did You Know?

As the difference between ambient air and the air encapsulated in the EPS foam in a Net-Zero SIP panel become more and more pronounced, the r-value of the foam increases. The practical implication is that the colder it gets, the more insulation value the foam has.  Read more...
